Nothing can be as frustrating when you see your keys shining on the dashboard of your car and it’s locked. You don’t even have the spare keys handy – kicking the dirt or pull your hair seems like the only option for most. But hey, don’t do that, as breaking into your car is easy.

This is a 4 part series of how you can safely break into your own car. So, without any further ado, let’s explore our first method.

Warning: The methods that we will discuss in this series are strictly meant for your own car. Don’t attempt to break into cars illegally. Also, the car’s automatic alarm is more likely to set off during these methods.

Unlocking The Door With Manual Locks:

With the help of a wedge, the right technique coupled with the right amount of pressure, you can create that opening on the top of the door. Through this opening, you can insert a small metal rod and unlock the door.

But, it’s easier said than done…let’s give you some details.

Note: Before you go about the business, make sure what type of a lock the vehicle has. If it’s an automatic one, you may have to press a button to unlock it and the process has more chances of setting off the alarm. Manual locking is comparatively easier though.

Step 1 – Find something thin but strong enough to get in between the top part of the door and the body of the vehicle. You can use a ruler or a knife for this purpose.

Step 2 – Make sure you work on the opening opposite to the hinge of the door as this side can be pulled out the most. Make a hook at the end of the tool; clothes hanger would work perfectly here. Keep inserting the tool until it is visible from the outside.

Step 3 – The chances are you won’t get it right the first time but your aim should be to reach for the lock and pull it up to unlock it.

Breaking into your own car is easy but may take some time before you actually unlock it – especially if you are doing it for the first time. So, patience is the key here.
